World Cup 2018: What about the Groups?
First one to look out – Belgium
Some of the most prominent football experts said that Belgium boasts one of the youngest and most talented squads in this competition. The Red Devils topped their qualification group in style, winning nine out of their 10 matches. Belgium’s attack, which is spearheaded by Premier League playmakers Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, scored 43 goals in qualification.
Now, we are going through key strengths and weaknesses of the teams playing in each Group.
According to many people, this Group is the weakest competitor. The central battle will take place when Russia and Uruguay meet on the same field. The latter can boast of number of world-class footballers, including Edinson Cavani and Diego Godin. Many of predictors agree that Uruguay will progress from the group at the ¼ finals. On the other hand, football experts agree that the fourth member of Group A, Saudi Arabia, is a clear outsider.
And now something completely different! This Group will be the strongest one, having in mind betting odds. In the match Spain vs. Portugal, you’ll see the greatest number of sporting superstars, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Andres Iniesta, Diego Costa, and others. The third line in the table is more likely to be occupied by the Iranians, but ones shouldn`t forget about Morocco. The fact is that both teams had perfect qualification campaigns and good chances of success, so we will closely follow this up.
France is the clear favorite in this Group. Numerous football fans are looking forward to see Paul Pogba, and other French players who will start the campaign against the Australia. Following this, Peru, Australia, and Denmark have approximately equal chances. There will be a serious fight in Group С for the second and third positions.
Argentina is being an evident favorite among other teams. The team has a marvelous line-up and Lionel Messi as the most promising forward. Then, the national team of Croatia follows, with Ivan Perisic and Mario Mandzukic as the most successful players. The World Cup 2018 odds promise that these footballers will cause lots of problems to their rivals, Nigeria and Iceland.
This is Brazil’s Group. It is common knowledge that one must expect the Brazilians to become the winners of any forthcoming tournament. As for the second place, it’s much more difficult to predict who will take it. Some specialists say that it’ll be Switzerland, as the players of this country seem to be stronger and more disciplined than their opponents. In a number of World Cup betting tips, they say that Costa Rica will spring a surprise on its rivals, as it has already done in Brazil.
It includes Germany, Mexico, Sweden, and South Korea, with the former being an evident favorite. Sweden has an amazing team and thus high chances to be the first in its quartet. Mexicans seem to be ready to occupy the second place, and many bookmakers expect this nation to become the participant of Round of 16. It is to be recalled that it has successfully outcompeted Italy in the playoffs and is now a motivated and well-balanced team.
Experts note that both English and Belgian teams are favorites. Just to mention, we have Harry Kane, Jesse Lingard, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while on the other hand we’ll enjoy fascinating playing of Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, and Kevin De Bruyne. In the opening match, English footballers will meet on the same field with Tunisia. Panama’s odds are not high either – experts say that odds to qualify from the Group are very thin.
This Group is (also) difficult to predict. There is Colombia and Senegal with Sadio Mane who is always ready to cut his opponents down to size. Being that Colombians have a solid experience, this is why they are likely to occupy the first line in this quad. Japan has its Shinji Kagawa and we read some predictions about Poland in the second place, and Senegalese on third. The ball is round and predicting the outcome with so many variables wasn`t the smartest thing so far. But we are looking forward to the TEST!
